Every Emotion Costs

No matter where you grew up, returning home can be an emotional ride into the past. Sisters Quilla and June return to the reserve where they grew up to bury the mentally ill mother who abandoned them 16 years ago. Although it's a moving passage, it's community and family that help the sisters find their true calling in life.
This award winning feature by Indigenous artist Darlene Naponse explores the reality of returning home to face family, community and the ceremony of death. The film features a stellar cast of Canadian Indigenous actors including Michelle St. John, Roseanne Supernault and Tantoo Cardinal.
