NCFD 150: Our Partnership with Quebec Cinema

March 18, 2017

Over the years, Francophone films like INCENDIES, MONSIEUR LAZHAR, and MOMMY have soared through the national and international film scene with award-winning stories about Canadians by Canadians.

For National Canadian Film Day 150 (NCFD 150), Québec Cinéma will be partnering with us to highlight even more Francophone films all across the country. Together we will be presenting over 100 screenings in 70 cities all across Quebec and Canada.

Québec Cinéma has carefully curated a selection of French-language films that showcase Francophone diversity from across the country. Films being shown will represent Quebec (18 feature films), Franco-Canadian (six features and 16 shorts) and Indigenous (27 short films) talent.

“Through our cinema, we tell our stories, create our cultural landscape, and define our identities,” said Ségolène Roederer, Executive Director of Québec Cinéma in last week’s press release.

One of the great things about NCFD 150 is seeing the outpouring of excitement for Canadian cinema from every corner of the country. With Québec Cinéma on board, Canadians will have even more reason to celebrate en français!
