This special screening of John and the Missus is part of CanFilmDay’s nationwide tribute to Gordon Pinsent. The screening will be followed by an in-person Q&A with producer Peter O’Brian.

For a month leading up to April 19, VIFF invites audiences to take a closer look at the evolving face of a country busily reimagining itself. Home Truths is a month-long programme culminating in special screenings on CanFilmDay at the VIFF Centre Vancity Theatre.
John and the Missus is considered by many to be Gordon Pinsent’s crowning achievement and most personal work, a moving meditation on the meaning of “home”. He not only wrote and directed, but also starred, earning himself the Genie Award for Best Actor, and five additional Genie nominations. This is a rare opportunity to see this masterwork on the big screen.
