The Stairs

Hugh Gibson's compassionate documentary takes us inside Toronto's Regent Park Community Health Centre, to tell the story of staff members Marty, Greg and Roxanne, each of whom has survived decades of street-involvement in Regent Park.
 
Using their experiences, each works to help others while struggling to maintain their newfound stability. Told over five years, The Stairs defies stereotypes about drug use, sex work and homelessness through an intimate portrait that is by turns funny, surprising and moving.
