The Beyond Elbows Up Survey Contest” (the “Contest”) is intended for Canadian residents only and is governed by Canadian, provincial, municipal law. Please do not enter the Contest if you are not a legal resident of Canada, or are not located in Canada at time of entry. The contest is sponsored by: REEL CANADA, 489 College Street, Toronto, ON Canada M6G 1A5 (the “Sponsor”). Void where prohibited by law.
- CONTEST PERIOD: The Contest commences on Monday, March 25, 2026 at 12:01am EST and ends on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 11:59pm EST (the “Contest Period”). The sole determinant of time for the purposes of this Contest, including receipt of a valid entry, will be the Contest computer servers (“Contest computers”). Proof of transmission (screenshots or captures, etc.) or attempted transmission does not constitute proof of delivery or receipt by the Contest computers or Sponsor.
- ELIGIBILITY: To enter and be eligible to win one of three Prizes, a person must be, at the time of entry into the Contest: (a) an individual legal resident of Canada, (b) located in Canada (c) be of the age of majority in his/her/their province or territory of residence. Employees, officers, and directors (including immediate family members and members of the same household of such persons, including common law spouses) of the Sponsor, its funders, partners, and provincial representatives, affiliated companies or agents, their respective advertising or promotional agencies, prize suppliers and the independent contest organization (collectively, the “Contest Entities”) are not eligible to enter the Contest. For these Official Rules, “immediate family” means parent, sibling, child, or spouse, including common law spouse, regardless of where they reside. Sponsor shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity and/or eligibility to participate in the Contest. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification. HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Although online access is required in order to participate in the Contest, no purchase is required. Many public libraries, Internet cafés, retail businesses and others offer access to the Internet and a number of Internet service providers and other companies offer free email accounts.To enter, click the link or scan the QR code provided to complete the online survey. To enter the Contest, tick the box to confirm your entry into this Contest and provide you legal first and last names as well as a valid email address. To enter, visit www.canfilmday.ca/conversation or www.jourcinecan.ca/causerie, complete the online survey, and if you wish to be entered into this Contest, tick the box to confirm your entry. Once you click ‘submit’, you have been entered into the contest. All information requested by and provided to the Sponsor by participants must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. Any person who is found to have entered the Contest with more than one (1) e-mail address or has submitted falsified information, will be disqualified and all such entries received by such person during the Contest Period will be disqualified at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. The Sponsor reserves the right, in their sole and absolute discretion, to disqualify any entrant who at any stage, supplies untruthful, incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading personal details and/or information. All entries must be submitted by the individual entrant and not by another person on the entrant’s behalf. Proof of transmission (screenshots or captures etc.) does not constitute proof of delivery. Entries generated by script, macro, robotic, programmed or any other automated means are prohibited and will be disqualified. The Sponsor is not responsible for entries that are lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected due to technical malfunctions, human error, or interrupted network connections. Any such entries will be deemed void. All entries become the property of the Sponsor upon receipt and none will be returned. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are forged, falsified, altered, or tampered with in any way. Limit of one (1) entry per person during the Contest Period.
- THE PRIZE: There are 3 prizes available to be won, consisting of one Grand Prize Canadian Prize Pack appraised at a minimum value of $1,000.00 CAD, and two additional prizes appraised at a minimum value of $175.00 for second and third successful draws. At the time of posting, the Grand Prize Canadian Prize Pack consists of the following: 1 x $300 Cineplex Gift Card; 1 x $150 Via Rail Gift Card; 1 x $100 Petro Canada Gift Card; 1 x $100 Indigo Gift Card; 1 x $100 Roots Gift Card; 1 x $100 Crave Gift Card; 1 x Tim Hortons 20oz Travel Mug, 875 ML ground coffee and $15 Tim Hortons Gift Card; 1 x CBC merchandise gift bag. At the time of posting, the second and third prizes consist of the following: 1 x $75 Cineplex Gift Card; 1 x $25 Indigo Gift Card; 1 x CBC merchandise gift bag. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are non-transferable. However, if a gift card prize cannot be fulfilled or utilized by a winner due to regional restrictions, lack of retailer availability in the winner’s province or territory of residence, or for any other reason beyond the Sponsor’s control, the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal retail value. The Gift cards will be subject to the Term and Conditions imposed by the issuer. If a purchase exceeds the value of the gift card, the winner will be responsible for any amount due which is over the value of the gift card (or the available balance at the time of purchase, including applicable taxes). If any purchase does not exceed the value of the gift card, the remaining available balance will not be paid in cash to the winner but will remain on the gift card.
- DRAW AND WINNER SELECTION: On Friday, May 1, 2026 at 3:00pm EST, a random draw will take place in Toronto, ON. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Proof of certification of winners will be available by emailing [email protected] or calling 1.888.508.0881 on or after Monday, May 4, 2026.
- WINNER NOTIFICATION: The selected entrant will be notified by email on Monday, May 4, 2026. If a selected entrant cannot be reached, does not reply within five days, or does not comply with these rules, the prize will be forfeited and a new winner will be selected. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion and time permitting, to randomly select an alternate eligible entrant from among the remaining eligible Entries submitted and received in accordance with these Rules (in which case the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to such newly selected eligible winner).
- SKILL-TESTING QUESTION: To be declared a winner, the selected entrant must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without assistance, within a limited time, to comply with Canadian legal requirements.
- DISPUTE: If a dispute arises regarding who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address provided at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
- TERMINATION: The Sponsor may amend, suspend, or terminate the Contest at any time without prior notice. If the Contest cannot run as planned due to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the Sponsor’s control, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the Contest.
- GENERAL CONDITIONS: By entering, participants agree to release the Sponsor from any liability regarding the Contest or the prize. The Sponsor and the Contest Entities do not assume any responsibility and are not responsible for: (i) the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information; (ii) entries which fail to comply with the Official Rules; (iii) any loss, damage, or claims caused by the awarded prize or the Contest itself; (iv) The Sponsor is not responsible for any technical malfunctions or failures that may impact participation, including but not limited to: website downtime, server errors, network congestion, or hardware/software compatibility issues, including any resulting damage to a Contest entrant’s device or software.” ; or (v) Any other issues not specifically covered in these rules, including entries that appear altered, fraudulent, or submitted via automated means. Any attempt to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest will result in disqualification.
- INCONSISTENCY: In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these Official Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials – including, but not limited to: The Contest entry form, television, print or online advertising, social media posts (including third-party platforms), partner or affiliate websites, digital newsletters, or any other promotional communications – the terms and conditions of these Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control.
- JURISDICTION: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrants and the Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Province of Ontario and construed in accordance with the Federal, Provincial, and Municipal laws applicable therein without regard to conflicts of law principles. Any attempt by a participant or any other individual to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor and or the Contest Entities reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- PRIVACY: By entering this Contest, each entrant expressly consents to the Sponsor, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted with his/her/their Entry for the purpose of administering the Contest and in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy (available at: https://reelcanada.ca/privacy-policy). This section does not limit any other consent(s) that an individual may provide the Sponsor or others in relation to the collection, use and/or disclosure of their personal information.
